Finally! A Conscious Approach to Running!

A Coach Can Be the Difference

lisaRunningProfileHi Conscious Running Friend,

My name is Lisah. I am a runner, mother, coach and the heart and soul of The Conscious Runner.

As runners, we all struggle with something at one point or another.

If you are having a hard time getting motivated, aren’t getting the race results you want, are you ready to break the cycle of injury and run consistently, knock off a few pounds while running, or want to run mindfully, you’re in the right place.

I’ve been running competitively for over 20 years, but it wasn’t always a smooth ride.

I had these massive lungs that allowed me to run for what seemed like forever, but my body wasn’t able to handle the impact demands of running. Muscle imbalances, weakness, training errors and less than optimal running form led to one injury after another.

I’ve had everything from stress fractures, to patella tendinitis, to IT BAND syndrome, to SI joint pain to plantar fasciitis.

Through it all, I was able to compete in the 2003 and 2004 World Cross Country Championships in Switzerland and Belgium and almost qualify for the 2004 Athens Olympic marathon. I

know the frustration that comes from not being able to run when you want to run. I know the excitement of getting close to a goal race only to be derailed by injury weeks before. I know what it feels like to have an overly critical mind that never lets up.

And I know it doesn’t have to be this way! Using a conscious approach and sound training principles, I was able to achieve my highest, most consistent mileage ever and feel fantastic while doing it.

And I want the same for you.

This is why I created The Conscious Runner Coaching program.

The Conscious Runner Coaching program is where you and I work one to one to achieve your goals.

I will be by your side each step of the way helping you transform from the runner you are to the runner you want to be.

But first, let’s see if we are a good fit for each other.

A Coach Can Be the Difference

manAndWomanRunningI take being a coach seriously.

I know the impact it has had in my life and the lives of the runners I coach.

Without a coach, I would not have known how to train properly so that I stressed the exact physiological systems I needed for a specific distance.

Without a coach, I would not have know what exercises to do to boost my speed, efficiency and strength and keep injury away.

Without a coach, I would not have had someone who was looking out for my best interest help hold me accountable to my dreams.

Without a coach, I would not have known how to get the most out of my workouts and recover from them.

Please, don’t let thoughts like, “I’m not a real runner’, I’m too slow. I don’t run enough, Maybe next year, I can’t do this, or I’m too heavy stop you. Last year I coached a runner who was 244 pounds with a goal of running under a 6 hour marathon.

Not only did he achieve this goal, he felt fantastic while doing it. At the same time, I was coaching another runner whose goal was to qualify for the Boston marathon.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter what your goal is, coaching specifically designed for you will help get you there. The truth is you are wonderfully unique and your training should be just as unique as you are.

When you work with me, I look at your current fitness, injury profile, personal bests and goals, mindset challenges and more and work meticulously to design a scientifically-based, realistic, mindful training program that’s right for YOU.

I’d love to see if we’re a fit for each other.

What others are saying:

“I cannot begin to tell you how many tears were shed along those 26.2 miles thinking about how someone like Lisah (hundreds of miles away whom I’ve never met in-person) could poor their heart and soul into me for months while in I nervously took it one step at a time… doubting myself most of the way. Lisah Hamilton is unlike any coach I’ve ever had. Without her, I wouldn’t have even thought of reaching for this goal. Lisah, with tears running down my cheeks, I want to thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for selflessly pushing me to achieve something most never will. Thank you for being such an amazing coach and person.”

Brian Madden

“This weekend’s long run went FANTASTIC. No hip pain and I ran strong. This is the first time I have run 10 miles since embarking on the strength routine and I was a little nervous at first. However, after mile 3 (mile 3 usually is the threshold for me when I find my pace and rhythm) I felt great and found myself running strong. I anticipated a 2 hour run but I finished 15 minutes early and did the speed work you recommended to the last 10 minutes. Again, I felt wonderful!” Jesse O.

“Thanks for this morning’s pep talk Lisah Hamilton. My first long run since forever. Pretty happy with my time. Well just happy to get back into it!”

PJ Ann Aguilar

“I been anticipating a good update for you. Just finished the first day on upper body segment and doing some of the additionals. OK, just letting you know that you are awesome! I ran a 10K this weekend, Vulcan Run in Birmingham. My legs and body felt great the whole time and I was able to run freely and hard and really enjoyed it. I’m gonna post a plug on your website. This same race last year was my first 10K, my pace in it was 9:43; 58th in my age group and 770 overall. This years result, 7:52pace, 14th in my age group and 211 overall. My goal now is to break the top 10 somewhere. I’m sticking with it. Thank you for everything.”
